PEC FirstYear Students Secure RunnerUp Position at AIInnovation Challenge Held at TIET
Chandigarh: 17th February, 2026:- A team of first-year students of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) has secured the Runner-Up position at the AI-Innovation Challenge (TIET SabkaAI Hackathon) held at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology.
The competition witnessed participation from multiple institutes, with teams presenting innovative Artificial Intelligence–driven solutions to real-world problems. Following several rigorous evaluation rounds, the PEC team’s project was adjudged second best, earning the team a cash prize of ?25,000/-.
The team was led by Aryan Singh and comprising Rehan Abhi, Siddharth Mohta, Kanishk Singh, and Ananay Dubey. Their performance stood out for its technical depth, originality, problem-solving skills, and effective teamwork.
This achievement highlights the technical competence, dedication, and innovative mindset of PEC’s students, particularly in the fast-evolving field of Artificial Intelligence. The accomplishment not only brings pride to the institute but also strengthens PEC’s reputation in emerging technologies.
The team expressed sincere gratitude to the institute for providing a supportive and motivating academic environment that encourages innovation and participation in competitive platforms.
