SAS Nagar, December 5: As part of the ongoing Panchayat Samiti election process in the district, a total of 310 candidates were found Validly nominated during the scrutiny held today out of total recieved 321 nominations. Sharing the details, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mrs. Komal Mittal informed that after scrutiny, 11 candidates have been declared ineligible to contest the elections.
She further stated that for the 22 zones of the Panchayat Samiti Derabassi, 149 nominations had been received. Of these, six were rejected during scrutiny, while 143 were found valid.
In the case of Panchayat Samiti Kharar, 78 nominations were received for 15 zones. After scrutiny, five were rejected, leaving 73 valid nominations.
For the 15 zones of the Panchayat Samiti Majri, all 94 nominations received were found valid during scrutiny.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mrs. Komal Mittal added that tomorrow, December 6, is the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers.
