Paddy riot Ratan Mann said Only the CBI will expose the truth
Karnal, October 28 - Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) state president Ratan Mann questioned the investigation into the paddy scam that surfaced during the current 2025-26 procurement season, saying that a secret investigation will reveal nothing, as this scam was a well-planned one.
He alleged that administrative officials, commission agents, and several fake farmers are involved in this scam. Therefore, BKU rejects this investigation outright. Ratan Mann said that if the state government truly wants to uncover the truth of the paddy scam, it should immediately order a CBI investigation.
At a meeting held at the local Sir Chhotu Ram Kisan Bhawan, he demanded that if the person who orchestrated the theft investigates the thieves, justice cannot be expected. He expressed apprehension that the suspension of two or three employees is merely a cover-up, while senior officials are also involved in the scam. Therefore, BKU believes that only a CBI investigation can reveal the entire matter.
Ratan Mann said that the BJP government, which claimed to provide MSP for 24 crops, is now hiding its face. In Haryana, Kharif crops such as paddy, millet, cotton, and green gram are being sold at prices 300 to 500 rupees per quintal lower than the MSP. He said that the claims made by the state government before the start of paddy procurement have proven completely unsuccessful.
As a result, farmers are forced to struggle in grain markets to sell their crops. Present on the occasion were farmer leader Shyam Singh Mann, spokesperson Surendra Sangwan, legal advisor Balbir Singh Tewatia, Rameshwar Das, Bharatri Mann, Sher Singh, and Jaipal Sharma, along with several other farmers.
