Paddy Procurement Progresses Smoothly in SAS Nagar 42 Arrival purchased So Far

SAS Nagar, October 14: The paddy procurement operations in the district are going on smoothly, with 42% of the total expected paddy (2,01,199 MT) arrival already purchased by various procurement agencies as of today.
According to the Procurement data, SAS Nagar district has witnessed the purchase of 85,282 metric tonnes (MTs) of paddy out of an expected 2,01,199 MTs, while 62,332 MTs have already been lifted from the mandis — achieving an overall 87% lifting within the stipulated 72 hours.
Among the agencies, Punsup led with 101% lifting, followed by PSWC (94%), Pungrain (85%), and Markfed (83%). The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has lifted 11% of the stock allotted to it.
On the payment front, the district continues to ensure timely disbursement to farmers. Payments amounting to Rs 197.47 crore have already been made to farmers against a payable amount of Rs 181.55 crore, reflecting an excellent 109% payment clearance within 48 hours. All agencies have surpassed the 100% mark in prompt payments, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to ensuring that no farmer faces any delay in payment.
Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal expressed satisfaction over the ongoing procurement operations and appreciated the coordinated efforts of all procurement agencies and mandi officials in maintaining efficient purchase, lifting, and payment mechanisms.
She also reiterated that farmers should bring fully dried paddy to mandis to ensure prompt procurement and smooth operations.
