Overbridge to Be Built at Doraha Crossing Central Minister Lays Foundation Stone
Ambala, 18 February:- An overbridge will be constructed at the Doraha railway crossing, which falls under the Ambala Railway Division. The estimated cost of this project is expected to be ?70.55 crore. This overbridge will be four-laned, and its construction will provide relief to road travelers heading towards Chandigarh.
The Central Railway Minister, Ravneet Singh Bittu, laid the foundation stone of the four-lane railway overbridge at Level Crossing No. 164-AB. On this occasion, Ambala Division’s Railway Manager (DRM) Vinod Bhatia, Chief Engineer of the Road Safety Project Rajiv Ranjan Raju, and other senior officials were present.
The Minister stated that local residents and traders have been struggling with severe traffic jams at this crossing for the past 12 years, and this project will provide them relief. Notably, this road is a major link connecting Ludhiana with Rupnagar, Mohali, and Chandigarh. Every day, 190 trains pass through this level crossing, along with over 3,000 vehicles.
