Dhuri/Sangrur, April 9:- OSD to the Chief Minister, Sukhveer Singh, today kick-started the government wheat procurement at the Grain Market, Dhuri.
Addressing the gathering, he stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is fully committed to ensuring a smooth and hassle-free procurement process, with no inconvenience to farmers in the mandis.
He further emphasized that the government is prepared to procure every single grain of wheat brought to the mandis and assured that timely payments to farmers will be ensured. He added that all procurement agencies have made robust and adequate arrangements to facilitate an efficient procurement process.
On the occasion, Chairman, Market Committee Dhuri, Rajwant Singh Ghulli, informed that extensive arrangements have been put in place to support farmers during the procurement season. He highlighted that proper facilities for sanitation, clean drinking water and seating have been ensured across the mandi premises.
He also appealed to farmers to bring their produce as per the prescribed moisture norms to enable smooth and immediate procurement.
Among those present on the occasion were Waqf Board Member Dr. Anwar Bhasaur, Raman Deep Singh, Zila Parishad Member Harjinder Singh Kanjhla, Rachhpal Singh Bhullarheri, President, Arhtiya Association Dhuri, Jatinder Singh Mander (Soni), Chaudhary Pawan Verma, Naresh Singla, Anil Mittal, Pushpinder Sharma, Sukhveer Singh, Labh Singh, Jaspal Singh Bhullar, Milkha Raj, Rubal, Gagandeep Singh Bhasaur, along with a large number of farmers and Arhtiyas.
