Orientation Program Held in Haroli Under the Wings ScaleUp Project
Una, March 9: An orientation program for Anganwadi workers under the Wings Scale-Up Project was held today (Monday) at the Child Development Project Officer's office in Haroli. The program was chaired by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Shiv Singh Verma. The program aims to improve the nutrition and health of women and children by strengthening the capacity of Anganwadi workers.
The CDPO, who participated in the program, provided detailed information to Anganwadi workers about the various components of the Wings Scale-Up Project. He also instructed Anganwadi workers on identifying pre-conception women, preparing their line-listing, and updating it periodically. He also explained the process for calculating BMI (Body Mass Index) and providing nutritious food items based on BMI.
He informed that under the Wings Project, food products, milk, and eggs will be provided to pregnant women, postpartum women, and children aged 6 to 24 months through Anganwadi centers, as part of their choices. During this, counselling and awareness was also provided to the workers on issues related to water sanitation and hygiene so that better hygiene and health related behaviour could be promoted in the community. On this occasion, supervisor Pushpa Devi and Anganwadi workers including Dr. Anshika, Som and Shivani from SAS team were present.
