Operation Aakram Karnal Polices Major Strike Against Criminals
Karnal, March 2:- As per the instructions of the Director General of Police, Haryana, "Operation Aakram" was launched to control crime across the state. Under this campaign, the Karnal District Police, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia, conducted extensive operations and successfully arrested 68 accused involved in various criminal cases.
As part of this special campaign, a total of 89 teams were formed at the district level, Crime Investigation Branch, and at police station and outpost levels. These teams, comprising 289 police officers and personnel, raided various locations and took strict action against criminals. A total of 30 cases were registered under various sections during the operation.
In major actions, 24 accused were arrested in 25 cases under the Excise Act, and 104 bottles of illicit liquor, 305 bottles of illicit liquor, and 750 liters of liquor were recovered from their possession. In two cases of gambling and betting, two accused were arrested, and betting money worth ?10,640 was recovered. In drug trafficking cases, three accused were arrested, and 23 grams of smack and 1.50 kilograms of marijuana (flower and leaf) were recovered.
In addition, during the operation, 17 proclaimed offenders (POs) and two bail jumpers were arrested, and 12 non-bailable warrants were executed. One accused was also re-arrested. Accused in theft, snatching, and other criminal cases were also arrested and brought to justice.
In a special crackdown against drivers violating traffic rules, 304 challans were issued for lane driving. Drivers were also made aware of the importance of following traffic rules.
The Superintendent of Police appealed to the public to immediately report any criminal activity or mischief to the police. He clarified that strict action against criminals will continue and crime will not be allowed to flourish in the district under any circumstances.
