Oil prices hiked again PetrolDiesel 90 paise expensive

New Delhi:- Giving another big blow to the general public across the country, oil companies today increased the prices of petrol and diesel by an average of 90 paise per litre. The fire in the prices of crude oil in the international market due to the ongoing war in West Asia has now started affecting the pockets of Indian consumers. After today's increase, petrol in the capital Delhi has increased by 87 paise from Rs 97.77 to Rs 98.64 per litre, while diesel has become expensive by 91 paise to Rs 91.58 per litre.
Oil prices have also skyrocketed in other metropolitan cities of the country. In Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 107.59 with an increase of 91 paise and diesel is being sold at Rs 94.08 per litre with an increase of 94 paise. The highest increase of 96 paise was recorded in Kolkata, where the price of petrol has reached Rs 109.70. Similarly, petrol in Chennai has touched the level of Rs 104.49 and in Jaipur, it has touched the level of Rs 108.91 per liter. It is worth noting that this is the second big blow to the public within a week. Earlier, on May 15, the central government had increased the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 3 each per liter. According to experts, due to the situation in the important maritime trade corridor 'Strait of Hormuz' due to the war that started between the US-Israel and Iran since February 28, Brent crude (crude oil) is running above $ 100 per barrel. Although the Indian government has claimed that there is no shortage of oil in the country and energy reserves are completely safe, the continuously rising prices have ruined the budget of the common man.
