OBCSCST Sangharsh Samitis show of strength in Lalri
Haroli/Una, February 22 (Narayan Prabhakar): On Sunday, at the call of the OBC-SC-ST Sangharsh Samiti, a massive public meeting was held in Lalri village of the Haroli assembly constituency to advocate for justice, equality, and the protection of constitutional rights. A large number of people from various villages in the area participated in the meeting, conveying the message of social unity and vigilance for rights.
During the program, speakers highlighted issues of education and social justice. They expressed support for the policies of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and strongly demanded the full implementation of the 93rd Constitutional Amendment.
Addressing the gathering, Saurabh Kondal, President of the Sangharsh Samiti Himachal Pradesh, said that the time has come for society to awaken from its Kumbhakaran-like slumber and fight for its rights on its own. He said that this voice must be taken to the Assembly, and the community must unite and elect strong leadership. Accusing both major political parties of neglecting education and social justice, Saurabh Kondal said that society must wage an organized struggle for its rights in a democratic manner.
He called upon the people to follow the ideals of Constitution maker B.R. Ambedkar and adopt the path of education, organization, and struggle, and move forward towards social change.
Several representatives from the social, political, and legal fields participated in the program. On this occasion, advocate and president of the Ambedkar Scheduled Caste Front, Una, Naresh Kumar, president of the Maharishi Valmiki Guru Ravidas Youth Ekta Mahasabha, Amit Valmiki, Ravi Bassi, Valram Mahe, Hari Chand Sandhu, Balveer Chaudhary, Haridas, Captain Amrik Singh, Pramod Singh, Flying Officer Purna Chand, advocate Sarathi, Tarsem Lal, Rakesh Bharwal, Captain Charan Das (Shaurya Chakra), Shashi Pal, Dharampal, Yashpal Chaudhary, Sarwan Singh, Ravi Saini, Durgesh Pal Singh, Ravinder Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Kamal Prasad, Gagan Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Varinder Heer, Balram Mahe, and members of other organizations actively participated and supported the movement.
Through the gathering, the community sent a clear message that the fight for equality, quality education, and constitutional rights would now be taken forward on a broader scale. A collective resolution was taken to strengthen the movement through organizing and democratic means to protect social justice.
