NRI Vijay Pal Jagpal Donates 25000 to the Society

Hoshiarpur: Recently, the Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplantation Society restored sight to a 3-year-old child by facilitating a corneal transplant. Deeply moved by this initiative, NRI Vijay Pal Jagpal and his wife, Rajinder Kaur Jagpal, presented a donation of ?25,000 to the Society. On this occasion, President J.B. Behal provided them with detailed information regarding the Society's work, stating that the organization has, to date, restored the vision of 4,162 individuals through corneal transplants.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Pal Jagpal lauded the Society's efforts, remarking that bringing light into someone's dark life is the greatest act of virtue. He also appealed to the public to fill out pledge forms for eye donation so that the lives of those currently living in darkness may also be illuminated.
Additionally, Dr. Tarsem Singh, Chairman of the Body Donation Committee, provided comprehensive details regarding body donation. He informed the gathering that the Society has, thus far, facilitated the posthumous donation of 30 bodies to various medical colleges, and 250 individuals have already signed pledge forms to donate their bodies. Present at the event were Dr. Lakhwinder Kumar, Prof. Daljit Singh, Madan Lal Mahajan, Ashwani Kumar Datta, Krishan Kishore, Balwinder Kumari, Harikishan Gangar, Onkar Singh Chahilpuri, Dr. Deepak, Rajan Malhan, Happy Sadhowal, Harpreet Singh Bains, Shinda Golian, and others.
