NIA should release orphanage director Gade Inaiah immediately Democratic Front
Jalandhar:- In a press statement today, the conveners of the Anti-Operation Green Hunt Democratic Front, Dr. Parminder Singh, Professor A.K. Malleri, Buta Singh Mahmudpur and Yashpal, have strongly condemned the arrest and imprisonment of orphanage director Gade Inaiah in Jangaon district of Telangana state by the National Investigation Agency under the UAPA.
For the past decade, Gade Inaiah has been running the ‘Mal Ilu Prajadharana’ orphanage in Regadi Thanda village of Zafargarh mandal, where about 200 children have been given shelter. A former Naxalite, Inaiah has been a leading figure in the revolutionary student movement in undivided Andhra Pradesh. Later, he was active in the revolutionary movement and was also strongly associated with the Telangana movement.
Inaiah was targeted by the authorities because he was raising his voice against the killing of Maoists and tribal people in encounters. It was alleged that he has links with the banned Maoist party and is stirring up anti-government sentiments because he had mentioned Home Minister Amit Shah's hand in killing Maoist leaders in fake encounters while addressing a tribute function held in memory of Maoist leader Ramachandra Reddy alias Vakti.
The leaders said that there was nothing false or untrue in Inaiah's comments. The Union Home Minister is pursuing the goal of making India 'Naxalism-free' by March 31, 2026. Under the guidance of the Home Minister, the BJP Chief Minister and other officials are repeatedly declaring that this goal will be achieved before March 31.
The ‘world’s largest democracy’ was so incensed by the mere remark of an ashram administrator that the National Investigation Agency was sent to arrest him and he was booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and lodged in Chanchalguda jail. The leaders of the front have demanded that Inaiya be released immediately and that the NIA deployed to stifle critical voices be disbanded and all black laws including the UAPA be repealed.
