NCC cadets from Khalsa College Mahilpur pledged to conserve wetlands

Hoshiarpur: The NCC unit of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh and the guidance of Lieutenant (Dr.) Deepak, organized a grand awareness program as part of the "Puneet Sagar Abhiyan" to commemorate World Wetlands Day. Embracing the current year's global motto—"Restoration and Rejuvenation of Wetlands"—the cadets fulfilled their moral responsibility towards nature by planting trees extensively in the college campus.
In this grand rally, organized to raise public awareness about environmental conservation, the local community was made aware of the importance of the ecosystem and wetlands through powerful slogans such as "Tree Plantation - Jewel of the Earth." In this noble effort dedicated to social service and community upliftment, Naib Subedar Nabal Kishore of 8 Punjab Battalion, Havildar Mandeep Singh and CTO Jitendra Singh of Sant Baba Hari Singh Public School graced the occasion and praised the cadets' spirit of service.
On this occasion, Principal Dr Parvinder Singh while motivating the cadets said that wetlands are not only sources of water but are the 'lungs' of the earth, whose conservation is essential for our safe future. Lieutenant (Dr) Deepak while highlighting the importance of the Punit Sagar campaign said that this small effort of the youth will prove to be a milestone in maintaining environmental balance.
