Karnal, February 15: Paying homage to Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan said that Swamiji's thoughts provide us with the energy to stay on the right path even in adverse circumstances. National progress is impossible without our culture. The Arya Samaj's efforts to connect our next generation with our roots and glorious culture are truly sacred.
Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan was speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Birth Anniversary and Bodhotsav program organized by the Arya Samaj Central Sabha, Sector 6, on Sunday. On this occasion, he announced a donation of ?11 lakh from his personal funds to the Sabha.
Mr. Kalyan said that our great men fought for their culture, religion, and country in times when the circumstances were extremely adverse. We achieved independence after a long period of slavery, but we still face many challenges. The dream of taking the country back to those heights is impossible without the cooperation of every citizen. To fulfill the resolve of a developed nation, it is essential for us to be self-reliant.
Mr. Kalyan said that every citizen plays a vital role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolve to make the country a developed nation by 2047. New technology and self-reliance alone are not enough; it is essential for our young generation to be imbued with values ??that incorporate both self-improvement and the well-being of society.
Regarding the challenges of the present, the Assembly Speaker said that today we have a huge responsibility to protect society from problems like drug addiction and environmental pollution. He urged the youth to follow the path shown by Swami Dayanand Ji and contribute strongly to the country's self-reliance by eliminating social evils and adopting the Swadeshi movement. He said that our first responsibility lies within our homes and families. We should raise our children not only to be successful individuals, but also to be good and cultured individuals, so that they can contribute to the nation's prosperity as responsible citizens.
