National Deworming Day will be celebrated on 10th August Ankur Mahindru
Sangrur, 03 August:- As per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Mrs. Poonamdeep Kaur, a meeting of District Task Force regarding De-worming Day was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Shri Ankur Mohindru and under the leadership of District Immunization Officer Dr. Anju Singla.
On this occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) informed that like every year, this year also National De-worming Day is being celebrated on 10th August and its Mop-up Day has been fixed on 17th August and during this, Albendazole tablets and drinkable medicine are to be given for eradication of intestinal worms to all children from 1 year to 19 years in all government, semi-government and private schools and Anganwadis of the district.
He while giving instructions to the representatives of various departments present in the meeting said that participation of all departments is necessary to make this campaign successful. Therefore all departments should work in mutual coordination.
On this occasion, District Immunization Officer Dr. Anju Singla informed that these tablets are to be given to about 2,91,053 beneficiaries in Sangrur. She said that the teachers or parents giving the tablet should take care that this tablet should not be taken on empty stomach. This tablet should be taken only after eating food and it should be chewed and eaten and children from one to 02 years will be given syrup (drinkable medicine) instead of tablet.
During this, D.D.P.O. J.S. Bagga, Medical Officer (District School Health) Dr. Amanjot Kaur, Medical Officer Dr. Gurbir Kaur, District Mass Education and Information Officer Karnail Singh, R.B.S.K. Coordinator Lakhvir Kaur and representatives of various departments were present in the meeting
