Nawanshahr- Monthly meeting of Pensioners Association Powercom and Transmission Mandal Nawanshahr was held at the Pensioners Association office Nawanshahr under the leadership of Mandal President Narinder Kumar Mehta. A majority of pensioners participated in the meeting. In which discussions were held regarding the resolution of the issues of pensioners.
The meeting was attended by Circle President Kulwinder Singh Atwal, Circle Office Bearers Vijay Kumar Bali, Niranjan Singh Kangan, Divisional Office Bearers Ravinder Bhaskar Rahon, Shambhu Narayan Rahon, Prem Chankoa, Shiv Raj, Ashok Kumar AAE, Hussan Lal Bhatia, Karamjit Singh, Harmel Singh Kazampur, Baldev Tajowal, Charan Singh, Gurdev Ram, etc. The speakers said in their address that the Punjab government has been running away from the meetings by giving meetings to the joint front of employees and pensioners many times.
It does not want to resolve the demands. Many states of the country have given 58% DA to their employees on the lines of the central government. But the Punjab government is silent on only 42%. Due to which there is huge resentment among the employees and pensioners. As per the decision taken by the State Committee against these distrustful policies of the government and Powercom management, a large number of pensioners will participate in a huge dharna in front of the head office, Patiala on November 7.
If the Punjab government still refuses to call a meeting and resolve the demands as per the demand letter, then according to the struggle drawn up by the joint front of employees and pensioners, they will participate in the state-level huge dharna to be given on November 16. On this occasion, the role of stage secretary was played by Madan Lal Ramraipur.
And Paramjit Kot Ranjha, Kashmiri Lal AAE, Gian Chand Gujjarpur, Kashmir Singh RA, Surinderpal Singh, Amrik Sanawa, Ramlubhaya, Dev Raj, Hukam Chand, Jaipal Sharma, Malkit Singh Shokra etc. were present in the meeting.
