Monthly meeting of Pensioners Association Powercom held

Nawanshahr: The monthly meeting of the Pensioners Association Powercom and Transco Division, Nawanshahr, was held under the leadership of President Narinder Kumar Mehta. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the issues and demands of the pensioners, as well as the ongoing struggles led by the organization.
Satisfaction was expressed over the protest marches conducted by motorcycle and scooter riders against the current government during the Municipal Council elections in Rahon and Nawanshahr, in accordance with the decision taken by the Joint Front of Punjab Employees and Pensioners at the state-level convention held in Jalandhar on May 17.
Speakers at the event—including Circle President Kulvinder Atwal, Circle leaders Niranjan Kang and Vijay Kumar Bali, Divisional leaders Ravinder Bhaskar, Shambhu Rahon, Juginder Begampur, Prem Chankoia, Charan Singh Asmanpur, Baldev Tajowal, Prem Sahapur, and Shiv Raj—strongly condemned the brutal lathi-charge by the police on unemployed ITI and apprentice-qualified youths who were protesting peacefully for employment in front of the Head Office in Patiala.
The speakers described the police brutality against the unemployed youth as unfortunate and criticized the Powercom management for evading the promise made to provide jobs to linemen, accusing them of delaying tactics. A resolution was passed in the meeting to support the ongoing struggle of the apprentice linemen.
The meeting was attended by Hukam Chand, Dev Raj Sujon, Balkar Ram, Rajiv Gaud, Harmel Singh, Gursharanpal Singh, Nirmal Bharta, Subhash, Inderjit, Ashok Kumar, Ram Lubhaya, Madan Lal, Nirmaljit, Kamal Veer, Kashmir Singh, Surinder, Malkit Singh, Balvir Singh, and others. The proceedings were conducted by Madan Lal Ramraipur, who performed the role of stage secretary.
