Mohali Police busts extortion case arrests accused
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 11: Mohali Police has achieved great success under the special campaign against illegal elements and gangsters under the guidelines issued by the Director General of Police, Punjab and the orders of Mr. Harmandeep Singh Hans, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, District SAS Nagar.
Mr. Dilpreet Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police (City) said that Akuns Jindal, who runs a goldsmith shop in Phase 3B2 Market Mohali, was threatened with death by an unknown person through mobile phone and demanded ransom. In this regard, a case No. 182 dated 11.11.2025 was registered at Mataur Police Station under Sections 308(2), 62, 351(1), 351(2).
He said that under the direction and supervision of Mr. Prithvi Singh Chahal, PPS, DSP City-1, Mohali, the team led by Inspector Amandeep Kamboj, Chief Officer, Police Station Mataur, took action with the help of technical sources and arrested the accused.
The arrested accused has been identified as Ajuba son of Dina Nath, resident of village Satoli, Tehsil Khedagar, District Agra (UP), currently residing near Dangran Hospital, Janjhghar, Village Chander, Tehsil Ajnala, District Sri Amritsar Sahib.
He said that the accused has been produced in court Mohali and police remand has been obtained, so that he can be questioned in depth. The police are hopeful that more important revelations will be made during the interrogation.
