Mohali Banks Achieve 74 of ACP Target in Quarter Two ADC Sonam Chaudhary

SAS Nagar, December 11:- The 78th District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting was held at the District Administrative Complex under the chairmanship of Smt. Sonam Chaudhary, ADC (Rural Development). Sharing the details, the ADC informed that Mohali district has achieved 74% against the stipulated 50% target, surpassing the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) projections for the September quarter. Sector-wise achievements include: Agriculture – 58%, MSME – 82%, Other Priority Sectors – 45%, with an overall achievement of 74%.
She further informed that the district’s Credit–Deposit (CD) Ratio stands at 101.50%, significantly higher than the national benchmark of 60%. Appreciating the outstanding performance of the banks, ADC Smt. Sonam Chaudhary emphasized the need for a stronger focus on government-sponsored schemes. “Banks are the backbone of the economy. The banking community must work in mission mode to achieve targets and uplift the poor and marginalized sections,” she added.
During the meeting, Shri M.K. Bhardwaj, Chief LDM, urged private banks to give special attention to social security schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana.
Shri Deepak Singla (LDO, RBI) stressed the need for 100% digitalization of accounts across the district and directed all banks to bring the remaining accounts onto digital platforms at the earliest. He also highlighted the importance of strict adherence to RBI guidelines and the need to enhance financial literacy and digital awareness in rural areas. The progress of the CFL initiative was also reviewed.
Shri Som Das (AGM, Punjab National Bank) thanked all participants and advised DCOs to attend future meetings with thorough preparation. The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to further strengthen and enhance the efficiency of banking services in Mohali district.
