Modis Performance Unparalleled Even Amidst Global Economic Crisis Tikshan Sood
Hoshiarpur: Former Cabinet Minister and senior BJP leader Tikshan Sood has stated that the tenure of Shri Narendra Modi as the elected Prime Minister—which has set a record in itself—has witnessed unparalleled progress across all sectors. He noted that over these years, the country and its people have experienced development without discrimination; India's economy, which ranked 11th in 2014, has now risen to the 4th position.
India is now recognized globally not only as a major consumer but also as a significant producer and exporter. He mentioned that the World Bank, while analyzing the global economy, recently warned that the conflict in Central Asia could plunge the global economy into crisis. However, it is good news for Indians that India's GDP will remain robust even amidst this global downturn.
Data released by the World Bank indicates that the global growth rate is expected to hover around 2.5%. However, if disruptions in the supply of petroleum products escalate, this average could drop to as low as 1.3%. He added that, conversely, the World Bank projects India's GDP growth to remain above 7.7% in 2026 and 6.6% in 2027. In comparison, the GDP growth for the USA in the current fiscal year is projected at 2.2%, while China's is expected to fall from 4.4% to 4.2%.
Shri Sood remarked that regardless of what the opposition says against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he has significantly strengthened India's economy through his competence and efficiency; indeed, these GDP figures are comparable to the levels seen during the recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Even when the entire world was grappling with an economic crisis during the pandemic, India's economic strength remained intact under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
