Mock drill successfully conducted on FerozepurBathinda rail section
Jaito, January 28:- A press release issued by the Railway Division on Wednesday said that a mock drill was conducted in Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and Senior Divisional Safety Officer Mr. Rohit Verma last midnight. Its main objective was to assess the preparedness and efficiency of railway employees to deal with emergency situations. The objective of the mock drill was to prepare railway employees to deal with emergencies like train accidents, fire or other disasters.
This mock drill was conducted at Level Crossing Gate No. 39/C between Golewala and Faridkot on the Ferozepur-Bathinda rail section. During the mock drill, a scenario was created where a train, Down BCN Faridkot, collided with a tractor-trolley at the level crossing gate. A situation was simulated where four passengers in the tractor-trolley were injured.
Two emergency trains, ARMA/ART, were dispatched from Ferozepur for relief operations. Ambulances were also brought to the spot. Considering the alertness and readiness of the railway employees, the exercise was declared a successful mock drill. Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Sanjeev Kumar said that the main objective of the mock drill was to ensure that the railway employees can effectively perform their duties in emergency situations and are mentally and physically prepared to deal with any situation.
Their main tasks during such situations include informing the administration in time, informing the medical and paramedical teams and providing assistance and first aid to the injured. During this mock drill, Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Ranjana Sehgal, Senior Divisional Security Officer Mr Rohit Verma, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer/TRD Mr Jitram, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Mr Bhupendra, Senior Divisional Operation Manager/G Dr Amar Shekhar Parcha, Divisional Engineer/Headquarters Mr Akashdeep Singh and other officers were present at the spot and immediately supervised the relief and rescue operations.
