Mahilpur:- In the 45th Inter-District Primary Football Tournament held in Ludhiana, the girls' team of Hoshiarpur district performed brilliantly and brought glory to the district by winning the gold medal. On this great achievement, Halqa Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar invited the players to his residence and warmly welcomed them, honored them and wished them a bright future. MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar spent his entire morning with these champion children. Celebrating the joy of victory, he gave a special breakfast treat to the children.
He motivated the children to maintain hard work, discipline and sportsmanship. The players also felt new enthusiasm and excitement after spending time with the MLA. The MLA said that he also got positive energy after spending time with the children. He said that winning the gold medal in the state-level competition is a matter of pride for the entire district. He congratulated the officials of the district administration, sports department and education department for this achievement.
The MLA said that with the efforts of the Aam Aadmi Party government, sports activities in Punjab have gained new momentum, especially the participation of girls has increased significantly. He informed that a grant of more than Rs 9 crore has been released for playgrounds and stadiums in various villages of Chabbewal constituency. This will provide better training to the youth and an opportunity to showcase their talent at the national and international levels.
He said that by connecting the youth with sports, we are committed to keeping them away from evils like drugs. District Education Officer Harjinder Kaur also congratulated the players and said that this success is the result of their hard work, guidance of coaches and support of parents. He assured that the education department will continue to provide continuous support to promote sports talents.
