Banga/Nawanshahr:- MLA Halqa Banga Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi on Wednesday reviewed the ongoing wheat procurement operations at Dana Mandi Banga and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements. Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh was also present with him on this occasion. MLA Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi said that all necessary measures have been implemented to ensure a smooth procurement process. He assured the farmers that they will not have to face any kind of inconvenience.
He further said that wheat procurement is going on smoothly in all the mandis. During the visit, MLA Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi said that detailed instructions have already been issued to the concerned officers as well as the heads of the procurement agencies to ensure timely payment and prompt lifting of wheat. He reiterated the government’s firm commitment to the procurement of every grain brought by the farmers.
He said that the payment for the purchased wheat is being transferred directly to the bank accounts of the farmers on time through online systems. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh said that all arrangements have been completed by the district administration for the procurement of wheat. He said that the officials have been instructed not to let the farmers face any kind of difficulty in the markets.
He said that basic facilities like clean drinking water, adequate lighting, seating arrangement and sanitation have been ensured to provide a comfortable environment for the farmers during the procurement season. He appealed to the farmers to dry the wheat and bring it to the markets so that they do not have to wait for long to sell their crop in the markets. Market Committee Secretary Virinder Singh was also present on this occasion.
