MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj honours Sakhiyas of MotherDaughter Respect Scheme

Sangrur, September 5:- A special function was organized at village Ghabda under the ‘Maaan-Dhiya Satkar Yojana’ being run by the Punjab Government with the aim of providing respect, security and empowerment to women. On this occasion, Sangrur MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj honoured the ‘Sakhiyas’ associated with the scheme.
On this occasion, MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that ‘Maaan-Dhiya Satkar Yojana’ is an important initiative towards giving due respect to women in the society as well as making them aware of their rights and making them self-reliant. She said that ‘Sakhiyas’ are playing an important role in implementing this scheme effectively at the ground level and reaching the people.
She said that the Punjab Government is continuously making efforts for the welfare of women and their social and economic empowerment. She thanked the Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Thanking Bhagwant Singh Mann, she said that efforts will continue to ensure that the benefits of the state government's pro-people policies reach every section of the society.
The MLA congratulated the honoured 'Sakhiyas' and asked them to play an active role in making other women in their area aware about government welfare schemes, women's rights and self-reliance.
Apart from District President Jasvir Kaur Shergill, women leaders Surjit Kaur, Narinder Kaur, Surbi Dhiman and Mandeep Kaur were also present on the occasion.
