MLA Jimpa hands over Rs 165 crore relief money to floodaffected families
Hoshiyaparur:- MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa on Thursday distributed Rs 1.56 crore relief money to 104 affected families for compensation for damage to their houses due to heavy rains and floods. The function was organised at the District Administrative Complex, where the relief aid approval letters were handed over directly to the beneficiaries.
Addressing the function, he said that in times of crisis, public service and helping the affected families is the top priority. The MLA further said that the Revenue Department of the Punjab Government prepared special Girdawari and damage assessment reports to provide financial assistance to those whose houses were partially or completely damaged during the floods and the approval process was completed expeditiously.
Thanking Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, he said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the relief aid distribution and rehabilitation works are being implemented transparently and expeditiously. He said that this relief amount will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the affected families, so that there is no delay or role of middlemen.
Bram Shankar Jimpa appreciated the patience and faith of the relief beneficiaries and said that during any disaster, the faith of the people is our energy and together we will make this area stronger than before. On this occasion Mayor Surinder Kumar, Preetpal, Mangi Lal, Amarjot Saini Halka Sangathan Incharge, Kuljit Singh, Amarjit Bajwa, Sarabjit Kaur Sarpanch Nangal Shaheedan etc. were present.
