Hoshiarpur:- Under the 'War on Drugs' campaign launched by the Punjab government to make the state drug-free, MLA from Chabbewal Dr. Ishank Kumar flagged off the anti-drug awareness e-rickshaw here today.
While flagging off the awareness e-rickshaw, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has launched the 'War on Drugs' campaign at the grassroots level across Punjab and has carried out major operations along with awareness against drugs. He said that under this campaign, on the one hand, strict action is being taken against drug smugglers and on the other hand, people are being made aware in detail about the ill effects of drugs.
MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar said that the government alone cannot succeed in the fight against drugs but this mission can be achieved with the cooperation and active participation of every section of the society. He said that this awareness e-rickshaw will go to different villages of Chabbewal constituency and inform people about the ill effects of drugs.
MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar appealed to parents, teachers and other sections of the society to keep an eye on the youth and motivate them towards education, sports and creative activities. He said that it is very important to create awareness at the village level to save the coming generation from the scourge of drugs.
He said that the government is fully committed to making a drug-free Punjab and the dream of a colorful Punjab will be realized by conducting awareness campaigns as well as taking strict action against drug smugglers. He appealed to the people to give full support to the campaign against drugs and work together to eradicate drugs.
