Lehra Gaga, July 24:- With the aim of environmental conservation and making Punjab greener, Punjab Cabinet Minister Advocate Barinder Kumar Goyal launched an ambitious campaign by the 'Apna Punjab Foundation' (FAP)—titled 'Mission Hariyali 2026'—to plant 9 lakh saplings across the state. The launch took place during a special ceremony held at the Ciba School campus in Lehra Gaga.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Goyal distributed saplings to students and encouraged them to plant as many saplings as possible and nurture them. In his address, he stated that environmental conservation is the need of the hour and every citizen should contribute to it. He emphasized that our shared responsibility extends beyond merely planting saplings; we must also care for them until they grow into full-fledged trees.
Commending the 'Apna Punjab Foundation' (FAP), the Cabinet Minister described their effort to systematically plant 9 lakh saplings across the state—and maintain records of their care—as highly praiseworthy. He noted that such organizations play a vital role in fostering environmental awareness in society and connecting people with nature.
He also praised Ciba School, noting that the institution connects students not only with academic education but also with social responsibilities, environmental conservation, life values, and practical activities. He urged every student to plant at least one sapling and nurture it into a tree. During the event, he shared valuable tips regarding the proper care and preservation of plants.
During the ceremony, Mr. Kanwaljit Singh Dhindsa, a founding member of the 'Apna Punjab Foundation' and manager of Ciba School, extended a warm welcome to the Cabinet Minister. He stated that the Foundation's objective is to transform environmental conservation into a mass movement. He explained that under 'Mission Hariyali 2026', 9 lakh saplings would be planted systematically across various districts of the state, with continuous monitoring and care ensured for each sapling. He also expressed his gratitude for the enthusiasm and cooperation shown by the students in this campaign.
