Minimum wage hike mocks workers union announces rally against government

Patiala December 31:- Punjab Government Labor Department has increased the minimum wages by issuing its letter No. St/Mv/2025/24111—24333 dated 24—12—2025. Through which the wages of the raw grade four employees have been increased manifold. The daily wage has been fixed at 451.01 and the monthly wage has been fixed at 11726.40. The workers have been mocked by the AAP government.
While the Labor Department is under the Chief Minister, the Class Four Government Employees Union Punjab (1680) has been continuously demanding the release of minimum wage at Rs. 35000/month in view of inflation for the last two years. But only Rs 337 per month has been increased. Which is a robbery of the workers.
Union leaders Darshan Singh Lubana, Ranjit Singh Ranwan demanded that the Chief Minister, considering the inflation figures, increase this increase to at least Rs 35000 and stop the economic robbery of the workers, otherwise they will have to pay the price in the upcoming Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections in the near future.
The leaders demanded that the contracting and outsourcing system be abolished and all the employees should be deployed in the relevant departments and their services should be regularized. Union state president Darshan Singh Lubana said that in view of the above circumstances, a rally will be held on 02-01-2026 at the Animal Husbandry Office, Deputy Director Office, Rawani Farm, Patiala and the Punjab government will be protested.
Because the Punjab Government has increased the minimum wage of classes A, B, C and D from 01-03-2025 to 01-09-2025 by Rs. 336.76 per month, Rs. 12.95 per day and Rs. 1.62 per hour.
