Minimally invasive cardiac surgery was successfully performed at Livasa Hospital Mohali

Mohali: A 68-year-old male patient successfully underwent minimally invasive cardiac surgery at Livasa Hospital, Mohali. The patient had a history of heart disease, including three previous stents placed in the same main LAD artery.
The patient had previously undergone several PTCA procedures, the last of which was eight years ago. Recently, he experienced severe chest discomfort and severe pain again. After consultations at several centers, the patient was advised to undergo traditional open-heart surgery. The patient and his family contacted Livasa Hospital, Mohali, seeking alternative treatment options.
After a detailed evaluation, the cardiologist team, led by Dr. Ishant Singla, Consultant-CTVS, Livasa Hospital, Mohali, successfully performed minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting using a small incision, avoiding a full sternotomy.
The surgery was performed under the supervision of Dr. Vikram Arora, Cardiac Anesthesia, along with experienced CTVS and critical care teams. The patient's condition improved rapidly after the operation and he was discharged in a stable condition.
Dr. Ishant Singla stated that minimally invasive cardiac surgery is a game-changer for select patients, especially those who fear traditional open-heart surgery.
