Mens Health Awareness Week Men Should Prioritize Preventive Healthcare Expert
Chandigarh: “Men often show less interest in seeking medical advice and tend to ignore symptoms until health issues become severe. Many common urological conditions—such as an enlarged prostate, kidney stones, urinary tract problems, and prostate cancer—can be treated effectively if detected at an early stage.”
Speaking on the occasion of Men's Health Awareness Week on Monday, Dr. M.S. Randhawa, Associate Director of the Urology Department at Max Hospital, Mohali, stated that late detection of disease is one of the biggest challenges in men's healthcare.
He noted that many men overlook symptoms such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, blood in the urine, or persistent discomfort.
He highlighted that early screening and regular health check-ups can help identify potential health issues before they escalate into serious conditions.
Dr. Randhawa advised that regular prostate health screenings and timely medical consultation can play a crucial role in ensuring better long-term health outcomes for men.
He added that adopting a healthy lifestyle—characterized by regular exercise, a balanced diet, adequate hydration, and avoiding tobacco use—can help reduce the risk of various health problems.
In Dr. Randhawa's view, men over the age of 40 should undergo regular health check-ups and consult healthcare professionals if they notice any unusual symptoms.
