Mens Giddhas add excitement to the horse riding fair
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar: In the three-day Punjab Horse Riding Fair in Pallanpur, where horses of different breeds are the adornment of the fair, colorful forms of folk culture have added color to all the fairs.
The host of the cultural activities, Prof. Gurbakhshish Singh Antal, said that under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Komal Mittal and Mela Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Sonam Chaudhary, a full stage is being provided to heritage folk dances and folk arts to create a colorful Punjab.
The elders of Malwa Art and Culture Society, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, made all the fairs dance by wearing men's Giddhas. Led by Pritam Singh Rupal, the 70-year-old Babas beautifully portrayed the rich heritage and culture of Punjab with the authentic dialects of Malwa.
The chief guest, Punjab Government Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, who was happy to see the combination of the vibrancy of Punjab villages, folk arts and sweet nok-jhok in Malwa dialects, announced a prize of Rs. 11,000.
Prof. Antal said that the team of Balvir Singh Bheura, Pritam Rupal and Bhola Kalhariya is continuously striving to preserve the heritage of Punjab and pass it on to the next generation.
