Mehtiana Police Station arrested 4 persons for selling and consuming narcotics

Hoshiarpur:- Mehtiana Police Station Honorable Mr. Sandeep Malik IPS. Under the directions given by Senior Superintendent of Police Hoshiarpur, a campaign was started against persons smuggling narcotics. Under this campaign, on the orders of Mr. Palwinder Singh Deputy Superintendent of Police Chabbewal Hoshiarpur and Inspector Rajinder Singh Chief Officer Mehtiana Police Station, strictly following the instructions of the higher officers, on 03.03.2026, ASI Kulwinder Singh along with his fellow employees conducted a patrol checking on a suspect from village Fuglana to village Ahrana Kala.
When the police party was on a dirt road from Billa Bhatha to Phuglana, a young man was seen sitting on the pavement, who was lighting a lighter under a silver work pan and making a 10 rupee note into a pipe shape and inhaling the smoke rising from the silver work. He was caught with the help of fellow workers and his name was ascertained.
He gave his name as Gurpreet Singh, son of Sukhwinder Chand, resident of village Bhugarni, police station Mehtiana. A case was registered after 1 silver work pan, 1 lighter, and 10 rupee Indian currency note in a pipe shape were recovered from him.
Under this series, a patrol along with fellow workers, A S Aionkar Singh, reached village Ahrana Kalan road from village Phuglana to check the suspicious person. On the left, two young men were seen sitting behind a closed motor. Both of them were lighting fire with lighters under different silver work sheets and making 10/10 rupee notes into a pipe shape and inhaling the smoke flying from the silver work.
Those who were caught with the help of fellow employees and identified, they gave their names as Manpreet Singh alias Mani son of Baldev Singh resident of village Baghana, police station Rawalpindi and Manpreet Mandla son of Kalvinder Modela resident of village Pandori Kad, police station Mehtiana.
And a case was registered after 1/1 silver work sheets with narcotics on them, 1/1 lighter, 10/10 rupee Indian currency notes in the shape of pipes were recovered from both of them.
And under the same series, on 03-03-26, SI Gurdeep Singh along with his fellow officers were going from Thana to Khanora on the brick road in connection with checking suspicious men in their private vehicle. When they reached near the playground of village Khanora, a black person was seen coming on foot from the direction of village Khanora. He was holding a black wax envelope in his right hand. Seeing the police party, he ran towards the ground and threw the wax envelope he was holding in his hand.
He was caught with the help of fellow employees and when asked his name, he told his name as Kuldeep Singh, son of Avtar Singh, resident of Mukhliana, Police Station Mehtiana. 70 unopened orange colored pills were recovered from the wax envelope thrown by him. A case was registered against him under Sections 27-61-85 of the NDPS Act under Sections 38,39,40 of Police Station Mehtiana, District Hoshiarpur. The accused were produced in the honorable court and sent to jail.
