Mehtiana Police Seize Huge Quantity of Illicit Liquor Three Accused Arrested

Hushiarpur - As part of a special campaign against drug trafficking, Mehtiana Police achieved a major success, seizing a large quantity of illicit liquor of various brands. Police arrested three accused travelling in a tempo. Station House Officer (SHO) of Mehtiana Police Station, Parvinderjit Pal Singh, stated that a special blockade was set up by the police to curb the smuggling of narcotics and illicit liquor, in accordance with directives from higher authorities.
Meanwhile, an attempt was made to stop a white tempo (number PB-32-J-7324) with Verka written on it, coming from Phagwara. Upon seeing the police, the tempo driver tried to turn the vehicle around, but the police party chased and overpowered him. The arrested accused have been identified as Mohit son of Chhote Lal, resident of Bajwada, Brijesh son of Hira Lal, resident of Purani Basti, and Jaspreet son of Rana, resident of Ravidas Nagar.
During the search, 70 cartons of Punjab Club brand liquor, 21 cartons of Royal Stag, 5 cartons of Royal Challenge, 5 cartons of Blender's Pride, 3 cartons of Old Monk rum, and 4 cartons of Santra country liquor were recovered from the tempo.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that the liquor belonged to Lovepreet alias Lavi, resident of Hushiarpur. The police have registered a case against the accused under case number 119, sections 61/68/1/14 and have started further investigation.
