Meeting of the District Advisory Committee for Mera Yuva Bharat Held
Una, July 21 – A meeting of the District Advisory Committee for 'Mera Yuva Bharat'—an initiative operating under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, aimed at the holistic development of rural youth and their inclusion in nation-building—was held today (Tuesday) under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Ishant Jaswal.
The meeting focused on the key objectives of 'Mera Yuva Bharat'. The Additional Deputy Commissioner stated that the primary aim of the initiative is to foster leadership qualities and personality development among rural youth, raise awareness on social issues such as literacy, cleanliness, environmental conservation, and women's empowerment, and make youth self-reliant through skill training. He directed all departments to establish mutual coordination in the interest of the youth and ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the maximum number of young people. He also issued instructions to meet the targets set for the district within the stipulated timeframe. He emphasized conducting the 'Mera Yuva Bharat' registration and public awareness campaign on a large scale across the district and connecting as many youths as possible to the portal with the cooperation of all departments. He noted that youth aged 15 to 29 years can register on this portal.
He informed that a district-level program titled 'Drug-Free Youth – Developed India' (Nashamukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat) would be organized on July 27, 2026, at the Himcaps Institute, Badhera. Detailed discussions were held regarding the responsibilities of various departments and the coordination required for the successful organization of this event. The official poster for the program was also launched on this occasion.
The meeting also deliberated on the constitution and role of the District Advisory Committee in accordance with the Ministry's guidelines. The district action plan for the financial year 2026-27 was discussed in detail, with an emphasis on ensuring the active participation of various departments. Representatives from the Health, Education, Sports, Banking, Anganwadi, Culture, and other departments presented their suggestions, and all members assured full cooperation at the departmental level in the future. Earlier, while welcoming everyone, District Youth Officer Pradeep Kumar presented detailed information regarding the functioning and objectives of 'Mera Yuva Bharat' and the activities being conducted in the district.

Rana, Lead Bank Officer (Punjab National Bank) Vijay Singh, Youth Coordinator and District Youth Services & Sports Officer Deepak Jaiswal, District Language Officer Nikku Ram, Deputy Director (Higher Education) Anil Kumar, Deputy Director (Elementary Education) Somlal Dhiman, District Nodal Officer (NSS) Dr. Lilly Thakur, and CDPO Una Dharvi Devi, among others.
