Hoshiarpur- An important meeting regarding the preparation of Census-2027 was held in Hoshiarpur today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain. This meeting was held under the guidelines of the Government of India, in which Assistant Director Swadesh Pratap Singh and District Incharge Ankit from Census Department Chandigarh specially attended.
During the meeting, detailed information was given about the circulars recently issued by the Census Department, jurisdiction structure, rural-urban classification, outer development areas and urban agglomeration and updating of base map. Officials said that updating these points correctly and timely is essential for the success of Census-2027.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain directed the officers present to re-examine the reports sent by Tehsildars in rural areas and Nagar Councils and Nagar Panchayats in urban areas. Instructions were given to make necessary corrections and send the revised reports to the Census House immediately. She said that this work should be completed with full seriousness, accuracy and within the stipulated time limit, so that there is no delay in the census process.
