Massive protest by BJP led by Satish Bawa effigy of Mann government burned
Hoshiarpur, July 25: Led by District BJP President Satish Bawa, hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers staged a vigorous protest today at Ghantaghar Chowk in Hoshiarpur against the Bhagwant Mann government and burned an effigy of the Punjab government. During the protest, workers raised slogans such as "Down with the Punjab government," "Stop atrocities against Dalits," "Punish the culprits behind the pharmacy paper leak," and "Chief Minister, resign."
Accompanied by Satish Bawa, a large number of BJP leaders and workers—including former MP Avinash Rai Khanna, former Cabinet Minister Tikshan Sud, former Minister Mohinder Kaur Josh, former Mayor Shiv Sud, Dr. Dilbag Rai, former District President Vijay Pathania, Suresh Bhatia, Vinod Parmar, Ashwani Gend, Archana Jain, Shivam Ohri, Ashwani Ohri, Kulwant Kaur, Surinder Pal Bhatti, and Ramesh Thakur—marched from the BJP office in Shastri Market to Ghantaghar Chowk, where they set the Punjab government's effigy on fire.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP leaders stated that the Punjab government is adopting double standards. They alleged that while Aam Aadmi Party leaders raise their voices against the central government regarding paper leak cases in Delhi, incidents of paper leaks in the SS Board, Punjab School Education Board, and pharmacy examinations are continuously coming to light in Punjab. They added that the government has also maintained silence on the issue of atrocities against Dalits.
The BJP leaders remarked that the Aam Aadmi Party government, which claims to be a champion of Dalit and women's interests, is currently working to suppress the voices of these very sections of society. They demanded the resignation of the Bhagwant Mann government on moral grounds and called upon Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal to apologize to the Dalit community and women.
