Hoshiarpur- Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) Chief Engineer, Talwara Rakesh Gupta said that appointments have been made on 16 sanctioned posts of doctors in the 100-bed BBMB Hospital, Talwara. Out of which 15 doctors have taken up their posts and are fully available there. He said that one gynecologist is on maternity leave.
He said that the available specialist doctors include Physician Dr. Sukhdev, Surgeon Dr. Mehta, Orthopedician and PMO Dr. SP Singh, Eye Specialist Dr. Anahit Kaur, Dental Surgeon Dr. Devyani Kaul as well as Dr. Davinder Puri, Dr. Satish Kajal, Dr. Nirbhai Singh and Dr. Suwart Kalia. He said that out of the 18 posts of nursing staff, 9 regular and 9 apprentice nurses are working.
The Chief Engineer said that this hospital is dedicated to providing treatment at government rates to all the local and surrounding people besides BBMB employees. Important testing facilities like CBC, Blood Sugar, RFT, LFT, Urine Test, Lipid Profile, X-ray, ECG, Ultrasound are available at low rates in the hospital.
Apart from this, the hospital also has a sonography machine and the posting of a physiotherapist is expected soon. The Chief Engineer has appealed to all the residents of the vicinity to take maximum advantage of these improved facilities, as the hospital is now providing the necessary health services at its full capacity.
