Maharashtra Municipal Council and Council Elections BJPs record win

Nagpur:- BJP has set a record in the Maharashtra local body elections. 48 percent of BJP's councilors have won the elections on the party's symbol and its candidates have been elected presidents in 129 municipal councils.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that BJP has set a record in the local body elections. He said that due to BJP's unity and the government's development agenda, the Mahayuti alliance has been successful in the municipal council and nagar panchayat elections.
Mr. Fadnavis said that BJP has emerged as the single largest party again. 3,300 BJP councilors have been elected which is a record. Mahayuti candidates have been elected presidents in 75 percent of the municipal councils. On the other hand, the opposition has alleged that BJP has won the elections with the power of money. Opposition parties said that the elections were won through EVM tampering.
The opposition Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) accused the Election Commission of helping the ruling Mahayuti win. Congress state president Harshvardhan Sapkal congratulated the party candidates who won the posts of municipal president and councilors. He congratulated the election body for helping the ruling Mahayuti alliance in the elections.
