Livasa Hospital Nawanshahr launched a weekly oncology outpatient department OPD
Nawanshahr: A weekly oncology outpatient department (OPD) was launched at Livasa Hospital, Nawanshahr, on Friday. Dr. Jatin Sareen, Director of Medical Oncology, Dr. Meenakshi Mittal, Director of Radiation Oncology, and Dr. Vijay Bansal, Director of Surgical Oncology, will be available for outpatient visits every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A free oncology consultation camp was also held on the occasion, where hospital experts shared awareness about cancer warning signs.
Addressing a press conference, Dr. Jatin Sareen emphasized that symptoms such as unexplained weight loss, persistent fatigue, lumps or swelling, unusual bleeding, blood in the stool or urine, and non-healing wounds should not be ignored, as early detection significantly improves survival and treatment success.
Dr. Meenakshi Mittal highlighted that modern oncology offers highly advanced and precise treatment options, but outcomes are best when cancer is diagnosed early, making regular screening and awareness crucial.
Dr. Vijay Bansal said that surgery, when performed at the right stage, can be curative in many cancers.
