Largest rent recovery operation 91 notices 16 shops sealed

Karnal, November 20: Mayor Renu Bala Gupta held a demarcation meeting on Thursday and discussed various issues with Municipal Corporation officials. These included the Karna Commercial Center, Pingli Dairy Complex, garbage transfer station, parking area, community center, rented shops, dog shelter home, meat/fish market, and illegal encroachments.
Demarcation of Karna Commercial Center – The Mayor directed Naib Tehsildar Ram Kumar to complete the demarcation of Karna Commercial Center (Mughal Canal) as soon as possible. If any encroachment is found during this process, it should be removed immediately so that the Karna Commercial Center project can be started. She said that there should be no illegal encroachment on government land within the municipal limits. If there are any, they should be removed and the area fenced to prevent anyone from occupying it again. He also directed the demarcation of the Municipal Corporation's land in Phusgarh village.
Lease out the Municipal Corporation's parking lots and community centers - He directed Secretary Ram Karan Bhardwaj to lease out the Municipal Corporation's parking spaces in the old vegetable market, the old Municipal Corporation office, the Jarnail Kothi area, and the Sardar Milkha Singh Community Center on Sector 9, Sector 13 Extension, Sector 14, and Hansi Road. He also said that if any community centers need repairs, they should also be repaired.
Recover rent from shopkeepers - He also directed the Secretary to recover rent from rented shops. The Secretary stated that a list of 119 shops had been prepared for those who were not paying rent on time. Of these, 16 shops had been sealed, and 12 tenants had paid the rent. Notices are being issued to tenants to pay the rent for the remaining 91 shops. If they fail to pay, these shops will also be sealed and the rent will be recovered.
Relocate Animal Dairies - The Mayor directed Deputy Municipal Commissioner Abhay Singh to relocate the animal dairies out of the city to the Pingli Dairy Complex as soon as possible. Sealing operations should be initiated immediately. Additionally, a draw should be held for applications for dairy plots. He also directed recovery from dairy plot holders. The Deputy Commissioner stated that approximately ?29.3 million has been recovered from dairy plot holders. He added that 53 dairies have already been relocated to the complex. A tender has been issued for the complex's boundary wall. Soil is also being filled in the plots.
Relocate the Garbage Transfer Station - The Mayor directed Additional Municipal Commissioner Ashok Kumar to relocate the garbage transfer station located at Tau Devi Lal Chowk. For this purpose, land in the village of Budhakheda, near the Naval Airport, has been identified. He said that a notice should be issued to the Sugam Swachhata Agency to relocate the transfer station as soon as possible.
Meat and Fish Markets to be Relocated - He also directed that the existing meat and fish markets be relocated outside the city. A site has been identified for this purpose near the cremation ground on the Baldi bypass. He stated that such markets should be located outside the city so that residential areas do not face inconvenience. He also stated that the sites considered for the construction of dog shelters should be finalized soon.
The Mayor instructed officials to review all these points again after a week. All officials should attend the meeting with progress reports. Present at the meeting were former BJP Executive District President Brij Gupta, Assistants Manoj Maan and Pradeep Sharma, and Patwari Ishwar Singh.
