KVK SAS Nagar organized a training course on mushroom cultivation
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, December 18:- With the aim of promoting mushroom cultivation in the district, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SAS Nagar organized a vocational training course under the leadership of Deputy Director, Dr. Balbir Singh Khada, in which 25 farmer brothers, sisters and youth participated. On this occasion, Dr. Balbir Singh Khada explained the importance of mushrooms.
Program incharge Dr. Harmeet Kaur and Dr. Parul Gupta gave information to the trainees about the cultivation of mushrooms in Punjab and their quality and value added products. Dr. Avneet Kaur from Farm Advisory Service Center, Rupnagar gave information about making compost for button mushrooms. Apart from this, mushroom farmer Mrs. Sukhjeevan Kaur shared her experiences on the cultivation of shtaki and keera jari mushrooms.
Dr. Harjot Singh Sohi from KVK, Barnala gave detailed information about the economics and marketing of mushroom production. Madam Rajdeep Kaur, Food Safety Officer, Mohali shed light on the Food Safety Standards Act rules and application process for mushroom business. During this training course, the trainees were taken to Mushroom Master Agrotech, Dhadak Kalan for practical experience of mushroom cultivation.
Where Mr. Vikas Benal gave extensive information from compost to cultivation of button mushroom. Finally, the trainees thanked the KVK team for designing this program and enhancing their knowledge.
