Hoshiarpur: A meeting of the Vikas Manch, Garhshankar, was held under the chairmanship of Bibi Subhash Mattoo, Chairperson of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Charitable Trust, and all the members of the Manch were present. Former councilor Kulwinder Sangha was unanimously elected President of the Vikas Manch, Garhshankar.
In addition, councilors Deepak Kumar and Kirpal Pala were appointed Vice Presidents, Rajinder Kumar as Convener, Balwinder Kumar as Secretary, Nitish Kumar as Assistant Secretary, Nirman Kumar as Treasurer, and Pawan Kumar as Media Advisor. Lekh Raj, Sumit Soni, Honey, Hemraj, and Tarsem Lal were appointed members.
The meeting discussed the city's development. Members alleged that the Punjab government was making only false promises regarding the construction of a bypass for the city and that no action was expected in the near future. Representatives of the Manch warned that if the government did not commence construction work soon, the Manch would be forced to launch a movement.
