Kirti Kisan Union Condemns Use of Tear Gas on Farmers

Nawanshahr:- Surinder Singh Bains, President of Kirti Kisan Union, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, strongly condemned through a press statement the actions of the police against farmers in Jiund village. He criticized the police for preventing farmers from participating in a dharna to demand the release of leaders and workers of the Bhartiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan, Baldev Singh Chauke and Shagnadeep Singh Jiond, who were granted bail by the High Court, and for resorting to firing tear gas shells at the protesting farmers.
The farmer leader stated that organizing dharnas and rallies is a democratic and constitutional right of unions, but the Bhagwant Mann government is suppressing these rights through police force, which will not be tolerated.
