SAS Nagar (Mohali), November 13, 2025:- High-level delegates of Karnataka State Agricultural Marketing Board visited the Mandi Board headquarters and the state mandis to see the MSP operations of Punjab mandis and the new initiatives taken by Punjab Mandi Board in the mandis.
During this, all the delegates were warmly welcomed by Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Sardar Harchand Singh Burst. After this, the Mandi Board officials explained in detail about the MSP operations being carried out in Punjab mandis and the new initiatives being taken in the mandis.
General Manager Mr. G. K. Venkatesh, who is leading the delegates of Karnataka State Agricultural Marketing Board, described the mandi system of Punjab Mandi Board as the best mandi system in the whole of India. He appreciated the innovative initiatives taken by Punjab Mandi Board Chairman Sardar Harchand Singh Burst such as providing vacant covered sheds in the mandis of the state during the off-season for training children in sports, making covered sheds available for social functions at very low rates, planting more than one lakh saplings under the Shahad Bhagat Singh Haryawal Lehar, installing ATMs in the mandis, installing solar systems on the sheds of the mandis, installing unipoles in the mandis for advertisements, ensuring cleanliness in the mandis, installing boom barriers in the mandis, providing good facilities to the people in Kisan Bhawan and Kisan Haveli and the facilities being provided to the farmers, arhtiyas and labourers during the season.
General Manager Mr. G.K. Venkatesh said that these innovative initiatives taken by Sardar Harchand Singh Burst will also be implemented by the Karnataka State Agricultural Marketing Board in the mandis of the state, so that the mandi system there can be improved.
