Karnal will speaknow no tension about gas

Karnal 25 March:- A significant meeting was organized in the auditorium of the Municipal Corporation office to address the problems arising regarding LPG gas supply in the city. In the meeting, officials of the Municipal Corporation, the district administration, Indraprastha Gas Limited (I.G.L.) and the city’s public representatives together prepared a comprehensive and far-reaching strategy to ensure a permanent solution to the gas crisis. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, while Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Vaishali Sharma, SDM Pradeep Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ashok Kumar, councillors of the Municipal Corporation, AGM Ashish Kumar from I.G.L. along with councillors were present.
During the meeting it was clarified that due to the growing dependence on LPG, an imbalance in supply is arising, and to remove it, Piped Natural Gas (PNG) has emerged as an effective and permanent alternative. In this direction, all unanimously decided that PNG connections will be promoted rapidly across the city. Officials of Indraprastha Gas Limited participated actively and presented detailed information on the current status of gas in the city, the growing demand and future possibilities.
Under this, a special survey campaign will be run at the ward level to identify potential consumers. Along with this, a wide public awareness campaign will be run through WhatsApp groups, social media and other mass communication media to motivate more and more people to adopt PNG connections.
Mayor Renu Bala Gupta said that this joint effort of the Municipal Corporation, administration and public representatives will not remain limited to just a meeting, but will be implemented effectively at the ground level. She said that in view of the current gas crisis, a well-planned and robust action plan has been prepared so that in the coming time the city residents do not have to face any kind of inconvenience.
The Mayor said that our objective is not only an immediate solution to the problem, but to develop a permanent system. By promoting PNG connections, we can not only make gas supply easier, but also provide citizens with a safe, environment-friendly and modern facility. The Municipal Corporation will work with full commitment in this direction and will make it successful in every ward with the cooperation of public representatives.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Vaishali Sharma said that the administration will implement this scheme in a phased manner and ensure that it reaches every ward. She instructed the IGL officials to complete the survey, awareness and connection process expeditiously so that common citizens can get relief soon.
Citing the AGM’s list, she informed that there are about 8 thousand households in the city where PNG gas is accessible. There is a need to make these people aware so that they take a connection as soon as possible. She instructed the AGM to ensure that restoration work is completed at all places where pipelines have been laid and connections given by them, otherwise the Municipal Corporation will take strict action.
SDM Pradeep Kumar said that PNG gas is a cheaper and better option for city residents. Therefore, as many citizens as possible should take PNG connections so that LPG gas can be saved. He informed that there are about 10 thousand households in the city that have both LPG and PNG connections; he appealed to the concerned people to voluntarily get their LPG connection removed and keep only the PNG connection.
All the councillors and officers present in the meeting shared their suggestions and resolved to make this scheme successful. All unanimously said that this initiative will prove to be a big and positive change for the city. Through these collective efforts, Karnal will be freed from the problem of gas supply and a better, safer and more convenient system will be provided.
