Karnal Police Action under NDPS Act Accused Arrested with 765 Grams of Opium
Karnal, August 14:- As part of the ongoing campaign against drug smugglers by the Karnal District Police, the Anti-Auto Vehicle Theft Staff team has arrested an accused with 765 grams of opium.
The team, led by Inspector Surendra Singh (In-charge of the Anti-Auto Vehicle Theft Staff), apprehended the accused. Acting on a tip-off, the Investigating Officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector Dalip Singh, along with the team, conducted an operation in the Indri area and arrested the accused.
The arrested individual has been identified as Ahsan, son of Irshad, a resident of village Pateda, Karnal district. During the search, 765 grams of opium were recovered from his possession.
A case has been registered at the Indri Police Station under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act. The police produced the accused before the honorable court today and secured a four-day police remand. Intensive interrogation is being conducted during the remand period to identify other individuals involved in drug smuggling and to initiate legal action against them in accordance with the law.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
