Hoshiarpur:- Kandi Sangharsh Committee Punjab deputation led by Darshan Singh Mattu provincial convener met SDM Garhshankar Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Gaur. Kandi Canal water overflows and crops grown in Garhi Mattu, Bhamian, Dugri villages are getting damaged, compensation should be given at the opportunity, overflow water should be stopped. Kandi Canal water should be given to Kandi area farms.
In some places, irrigation pipes have broken due to illegal mining, the culprits should be identified and legalized, water should be given for irrigation by repairing the pipes. Illegal mining has created a hazard to the Kandi Canal, illegal mining should be strictly stopped. Kandi Canal should be completed on a war footing.
This delegation included Bibi Subhash Mattu, Paramjit Singh Buta Dayal, Manjit Singh Dayal, Gurmeet Singh Pangli, Parminder Singh Pangla, Kulwinder Sangha, Satwinder Singh Shah Pur, and others. Convener Comrade Darshan Singh Mattu said that if the demands related to the Kandi Canal are not fulfilled, a strong struggle will be launched, the responsibility for this will be with the government.
