Joint Teachers Front burns effigy of Punjab Government in Garhshankar

Garhshankar, 18 March: In protest against the Punjab Government not introducing a resolution to cancel TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) during the budget session, and against the use of water cannons, tear gas shells, and lathi charge on employees marching towards the Vidhan Sabha on 12 March, employee organizations, responding to the call of the Joint Teachers’ Front to burn effigies of the Punjab Government across the state, burned an effigy of the Punjab Government at Banga Chowk in Garhshankar.
On this occasion, employee leaders alleged that the government is deliberately ignoring the demands of employees and trying to suppress their movement. They further warned that if the government continues its rigid attitude towards employees, the organizations will intensify their agitation.
On this occasion, GTU Block Garhshankar-1 President Pawan Goyal, Block Garhshankar-2 President Ashwani Rana, DTF leader Sukhdev Danciwal, GTU District leader Naresh Kumar, Pensioner leader Shingara Singh Bhajjal, Block President of Old Pension Restoration Struggle Committee (Garhshankar unit) Satpal Minhas, and other leaders called upon employees to continue their struggle against the government.
All employees present raised strong slogans against the Punjab Government and launched sharp criticism.
