Joint Mock Disaster Exercise Conducted at SCL Mohali to Strengthen Fire Safety Preparedness
Mohali, November 28- A Joint Mock Exercise on disaster management was conducted at the Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL), Sector-72, Mohali, at 1150 hrs. The exercise was organized in the presence of Sh. Rajender Singh, Assistant Commandant, CISF, and Sh. Sanjeev Luthra, Controller, SCL.
Various sister agencies, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Punjab Fire Service, and the Civil Hospital Medical Team, Mohali, actively participated in the exercise. The objective was to demonstrate effective fire control measures in an electric panel circuit and ensure the safe, panic-free evacuation of personnel from the testing laboratory.
Sh. Harjot Singh, Naib Tehsildar, District Mohali, along with representatives from NDRF, observed the exercise closely. Following the drill, he addressed the laboratory personnel and deployed staff, emphasizing the importance of fire safety awareness, timely response, and coordination among agencies during emergencies.
The mock exercise was carried out in strict accordance with the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reflecting the commitment of SCL and participating agencies to enhance disaster preparedness and safeguard workplace safety.
