Hoshiarpur: ‘Jasan-e-Diwali’ was celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal at District Drug Rehabilitation Centre Hoshiarpur. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairperson District Drug Rehabilitation Society Hoshiarpur Ashika Jain was present as the chief guest. Civil Surgeon Dr Balbir Kumar and Deputy Medical Commissioner-cum-Member Secretary Dr Swati Shimar were also present as special guests in the program.
This program was organized in a planned manner under the supervision of Dr Mahima Minhas (Medical Officer In-charge, DPRC) and her team. During this, Rotary Club President Principal Timatini Ahluwalia and her team distributed refreshments to the patients.
In the program, colorful competitions like Rangoli, Special Task, Tug of War, Spoon-Lemon, Musical Chair, Solo Dance and Bhangra were organized for the patients. The center was beautifully decorated with diyas and rangoli. Medals were given to the winners and gifts were given to the participants of the program as encouragement.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner expressed happiness over the successful operation of the center and said that the drug de-addiction center is playing an important role in the reconstruction of the society. He told the patients that life is precious, it should be illuminated not with drugs, but with a good path. He said that like every Diwali, fill your life with new light. He honored the team with the ‘Award of Appreciation’ on the completion of 10 years of the center and said that this institution is providing excellent services in the state.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Balbir Kumar blessed the patients to live a drug-free life with a new mindset. Dr. Swati Shimar said that she is proud to be a part of this family, which has successfully treated more than 3000 patients so far.
